VITAMINS

  • Vitamin A is reported to be found at high concentrations in colostrum in a variety of forms including
    retinol, retinal, retinoic acid, retinyl esters and as provitamin a carotenoids.
  • Vitamin E, in the form of tocopherols and
    tocotrienols (∼ mean 77.17 mg/kg) are found in low density lipoproteins in
    colostrum.
  • Vitamin K is also found in greater
    concentration in colostrum compared to mature milk in two forms, and menaquinones.
  • Vitamin D is found in higher concentrations
    in colostrum than mature milk. Vitamin D has important roles in immune activities
    and promotes the uptake of Calcium and Phosphorus in the small intestine. It has two
    major forms as cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) and ergocalciferol (vitamin D2).

After cleaning and thorough drying of the skin (no rubbing), with particular attention to hard-to-reach places (e.g., space between toes), apply a thin layer of cream and gently pat or rub it. Apply the cream at least twice a day—in the morning and evening.
